AI Hug Video: Turn Two Photos Into a Warm Hug
An AI hug video is a short clip where two people from two separate photos walk toward each other and hug.

What this template does

An AI hug video is a short clip where two people from two separate photos walk toward each other and hug.

What is the AI Hug Video trend, and where did it start?

The AI hug is older than most AI video trends. In the fall of 2024, TikTok users put two photos side by side, asked an image-to-video site to "make them hug", and posted the result; Dexerto wrote a how-to on 1 October 2024.

AI Hug Video trend timeline

Fall 2024Dexerto explains the viral TikTok "AI hugging" trend: two photos side by side, animated into a hug.
Fall 2025Storyboard18 covers "hug my younger self", an Instagram trend of AI photos where adults hug their childhood selves.
Fall 2026One template gallery shows 281,900 all-time uses for its "AI Hug" template, the most of any template with a public count.
Fall 2026Five of the AI video apps and sites we checked offer a hug template; one gallery lists two, "Hug Together" and "Hug Your Love", in its top row.

Photo requirements for AI Hug Video

Sharp, front-facing faces in good light. Both faces must stay recognizable after the hug turns them.
Similar light in both photos helps the two people look like they stand in the same place.
Plain clothes work best. The prompt keeps each outfit, and busy patterns can blend when the two bodies touch.
Use only photos of yourself and of adults who agreed to the video.

Troubleshooting AI Hug Video

--- — ---
The two faces blend into one — Use sharper photos with one person each, then generate the still again.
One face changes when it turns during the hug — Common in hug clips. A second run often fixes it; so does a still where both faces are clear.
Arms or hands merge — Plain clothes help. Generate the video again, or try Veo 3.1 Fast.

How AI Hug Video differs from common face-swap templates

RemixMeme uses a site-locked catalog prompt for AI Hug Video — upload and generate; you do not paste a third-party prompt.

This page is a two-subject skit or duet — not a random kitchen face-swap paste unless that is the meme itself.

Babies and unauthorized celebrity likenesses are out of scope — adults 18+ with photo rights only.
